Program Expands to Help Nearly 1,000 Disabled Missourians
SPRINGFIELD - Nearly 1,000 Missourians will receive home and community based services by the Partnership for Hope program. The program will serve 73 counties in Missouri. The Partnership for Hope began enrolling 470 individuals in October 2010. In December Gov. Nixon authorized the Department of Mental Health to begin the process of seeking federal approval to expand the partnership to an additional 500 individuals with developmental disabilities.
Through the Partnership for Hope, individuals will receive up to $12,000 in services each year. The county boards are contributing $2.1 million annually which will be matched by $2.1 million from the state and the federal government will contribute $7.4 million.
