HOOVER, AL - Mizzou sophomore catcher Patrick Quintanilla has been named to the SEC Baseball Community Service Team, as announced by the league office on Monday.

Over the last year, Quintanilla has been actively involved in the Columbia community. He has participated in the Food Recovery Network, working with Missouri dining services to take food from dining halls to local soup kitchens, helping provide food the less fortunate families and community members. He also volunteered with the CASA Heart of Missouri Youth Clinic, a youth clinic in which the Mizzou baseball and softball teams teach abused and neglected children how to play baseball/softball.

The SEC supports a Community Service Team for each of its 21 league-sponsored sports. The Community Service Team looks to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to his community in superior service efforts.

Mizzou will play fifth-seeded Mississippi State, which is ranked No. 16 in this week's Baseball America Top 25, on Tuesday at approximately 8 p.m. in Hoover. Mizzou will have ace Rob Zastryzny (Corpus Christi, Texas) on the mound while Mississippi State will throw righty Trevor Fitts (12 appearances, 1.65 ERA).
