Ray breaks record in Missouri's win
COLUMBIA - It was the perfect day for Shane Ray.
As Ray's Missouri team beat Kentucky to take the lead in the SEC East, the standout defensive end broke the Missouri single-season sack record. Ray had two sacks in the game as the Tigers went on to win 20-10.
Ray has 12 sacks on the season, which tops the previous mark of 11.5 sacks. Aldon Smith and Michael Sam shared that record.
Ray was emotional after learning that he broke the record, but likely has his sights set on the next mark. Terrell Suggs holds the national single-season sack record with 24. Ray would need to have 12.5 more sacks in the final three games to get that mark.
