JEFFERSON CITY - The American Red Cross Heart of Missouri Chapter assisted residents affected by an apartment fire Tuesday evening in the 1000 block of West High Street. According to a media release from the Red Cross, the Jefferson City Fire Department and the Red Cross assisted two families impacted by the fire.
One family received immediate emergency assistance to purchase food. The Red Cross also said it provided the family with a two-night motel stay and personal hygiene items.
Volunteers were also working with another family the fire impacted but are still assessing their immediate emergency needs. No word yet on if anyone was injured. KOMU 8 will continue to update this story as new information becomes available.
