Remains Found Could be of Missing Willard Couple
CRANE - Authorities in southwest Missouri say human remains found in a remote, vacant area probably are those of a couple missing since April.
Russell and Rebecca Porter, who are in their 30s and 40s, disappeared April 17 from their home near the Greene County town of Willard. They left keys and cellphones behind, and their home smelled strongly of bleach.
Greene County Sheriff Jim Arnott announced Friday that a deputy in nearby Taney County found the two sets of remains Thursday near the town of Protem (pro-TEHM'), about 60 miles from Willard.
Arnott says while positive identification is still pending, the search for the Porters is now a homicide investigation.
Family members who've been searching for months tell KTTS radio they were informed of the discovery Thursday night.
