Renaissance Festival Brings Some Firsts
CALLAWAY COUNTY--This is the first time the fifth annual Central Missouri Renaissance Festival is being held at a new permanent site. That site is in Hatton, Missouri off County Road 220.
The 'Ren Fair' features more than a dozen medieval venders, performers, and artists.
Friday featured the festival's first student day, where students got in for free.
When asked why people should care about renaissance festivals, Director Jack Hathman said, "We're going to be here for years, every year we'll build more. Every year we'll have more structures and more stuff, more events, and more entertainers. So it's a gradual incremental thing. People should care because not only is it fun, it's educational too."
Now that Hathman has a permanent site, he hopes to hold festivals there throughout the year.
The festival runs from Friday October 15 through Sunday, October 17 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is $7.00 for adults and $5.00 for kids.
