Repair work delayed by a day on St. Louis bridge
ST. LOUIS (AP) - Repair work scheduled on the Poplar Street Bridge in St. Louis is being delayed, but only by a day.
The Missouri Department of Transportation was supposed to start work Monday to repair pavement on the busy bridge that spans the Mississippi River between Missouri and Illinois. KSDK-TV reports that the work will now start Tuesday evening.
The project will include putting thousands of sheer studs on the bridge deck as part of a resurfacing project. All work on the westbound lanes should be done by August of next year. The eastbound project starts in 2016.
