MODOT District Planning Manager Mike Dusenberg said the department has been working to find a source of funding for the project.
The study area includes the U.S. Route 50/63 corridor from just east of the U.S. 50/54/63 Tri-level interchange, east through Jefferson City to Eastland Drive. It extends to McCarty Street on the north and approximately Dunklin Street on the south.
Officials looked to the improve the road in order the make it safer and to better traffic flow.
