Richland Road Project Sparks Controversy
COLUMBIA - The Columbia City Council will take a final vote Monday night onthe 271 acre Richland Road annexation and rezoning project. The project consists of 100 acres of commercial developments and over 700 private residences. The development would also surround some existing homes.
If the development is approved, commercial and residential areas will be side by side. Some residents in those homes are worried about living so close to commercial properties. Construction will not begin immediately. The project relies on the extension of Stadium Boulevard and other road improvements.
