JEFFERSON CITY - Jefferson City Police responded to a strong armed robbery early Thursday morning at a Breaktime on West Main Street. According to a Breaktime clerk who called 911, the suspect forced open the cash register drawer when it was opened for a purchase, grabbed cash, and then fled on foot. The clerk followed the suspect, who ran eastbound on West Main Street near Jordan Street, at which point the clerk stopped the chase.

The clerk described the suspect as a male in his early to middle 20s and about 5'9", weighing around 160 pounds. The clerk said he was wearing a silver chain, a yellow shirt, and gray pants. He did not display a weapon and nobody was injured.

A picture of the suspect is attached to this story. Anyone with information about the suspect should contact Jefferson City Police Detectives at 634-6400, or contact CrimeStoppers at 659-TIPS.
