Robert Williams Helps Owls Soar to Win
FULTON, MO -- Robert Williams lead the Williams Woods men's basketball team to a 83-66 win against Central Bible College on Saturday. The senior didn't made all his shots (4 FG, 1 3FG, 2FT) in the first half with his team hitting .655 pace from the floor.
The Owls jumped out to a quick lead but the visitors responded with a 10-2 run to pull in front 12-9 with 14:33 on the clock.
Williams would wrestled control of the game at that point, finding Andrew Miller for a three-pointer to tie the game at 12-12 and scoring four of WWU's next five baskets to give the Owls a 23-18 edge with 10:48 in the half. A timeout from Central Bible College couldn't stop the onslaught, as WWU pulled away and took a 51-34 lead into the break.
The Owls stretched out their lead to 27 points in the second half, but five unanswered points in the final minute left WWU 17-point winners.
Nick Totta's squad moved to 4-3 on the season, finishing the night with five scorers in double figures. Williams's 15 led the team, with Logan Decker chipping in 13. The Owls outrebounded the Spartans 36-24 on the night as well. Mason Horsley led all scorers in the game with 20, as Central Bible College fell to 1-7 on the season.
WWU is back in action on Monday night, hosting Principia College. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. from Anderson Arena.
