KANSAS CITY - On the west side of the state, the Royals continued their series with the AL's best Red Sox. Here are the highlights:

In the bottom of the second inning, Jason Maxwell crushed one off Jake Peavy. This one measured 406 feet, tying the game at 1. Same inning, David Lough continued to come through in the clutch. He had an RBI single to center and Alcides Escobar scores, making it 2-1 KC.

Bases were loaded in the top of the fourth. Mike Napoli drove one over Maxwell's head that would clear the bases. Red Sox took a 6-3 lead.

Moving to the bottom of the sixth, back come the Royals. It was Maxwell delivering again to cap a six run sixth. Billy Butler scored to make it 9-6 Royals.

Royals would go on to win it, 9-6.
