Rummage Sale Benefits Missouri River
COLUMBIA - One Columbia couple hopes spring cleaning can benefit a cleaner Missouri River. Josh and Sarah Pennington are hosting a rummage sale at 419 Parkade Blvd. from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday through Sunday. Proceeds from the sale go toward Missouri River Relief.
Missouri River Relief is an organization that sponsors clean-up events of the Missouri River. The organization has hosted 68 clean-ups and removed nearly 600 tons of trash in the last 10 years.
In addition to the rummage sale, the Pennington's will compete in the Missouri River 340 this July to raise money for Missouri River Relief. It is the world's longest, non-stop canoe race. Their goal is $3,400 for 340 miles of the race.
