Runners Hit the Streets to get Covered in Gold
COLUMBIA - Hundreds of runners hit the streets Saturday to "paint the town" in the Black and Gold Color Run.
Event organizers wanted to celebrate Mizzou's Black and Gold colors and asked runners to wear all black. As runners passed color stations, volunteers threw gold powder on participants. The gold powder was made of corn starch and was environmentally friendly.
Radio station Clear 99 and Ultramax Sports sponsored the two-mile walk and run. The race was non-competitive and ended with music, food and festivities.
