Running and Gunning
Introducing a new era of Tiger basketball and its newest star. Fast paced and exciting the new MU head coach Mike Anderson has his team running and gunning behind new point guard Stefhon Hannah. Hannah and the Tigers opened exhibition play on Friday with a 105-67 rout of the Missouri-Rolla Miners.
"That's fine basketball and I think the guys enjoy it. And it's amazing when they make a play like that or any particular play, the energy level just goes up another level on defense with our guys," said Anderson.
Anderson expects to see plenty more of Hannah and Marshall Brown working in harmony that is sure to satisfy their coach and Tiger fans.
"The alley-oop is probably one of the most exciting plays in basketball. So you know when we got this kind of routine gets the crowd into it. So I think that definitely was a boost of energy," said Missouri forward Marshall Brown.
"He run the floor faster than anybody on the team, so when he going I just see him and throw it up. I know he can jump high, so I just throw it up to him," said Missouri point guard Stefhon Hannah.
With Anderson's relentless full court pressure defense installed and on display at Mizzou Arena, fans will have an exciting show to watch every time the team takes the floor.
"It was something nice for the fans and maybe we'll come out and fill up this place now after plays like that," said Missouri guard and forward Matt Lawrence.
New ringleader Hannah promises to keep that show running smooth as the season goes on.
Hannah, a junior college transfer, finished off his spectacular night with a game high 25-points, six assists, and seven steals.
