Rustlers only need a few people to round up cattle, load them into a trailer, and haul the herd away with a truck.

"The majority of these folks that are stealing cattle are very aware of how the cattle industry works, are very familiar with livestock, and they've probably been around cattle all their life," Clark added.

Missouri's newly-formed Cattle Theft Task Force helped lead to the arrest of the Centralia husband and wife.

The task force has recovered about 200 head of cattle in the past two months, Clark said.

"But, we have a long way to go," he admitted. "We certainly need to recover some more stolen cattle, and certainly need to put more people in jail for the crimes they're committing."

Call Missouri's Cattle Theft Task Force hotline at 1-866-362-6422 if you have information about rustling in the state.
