Schnucks faces fresh food shortage, Columbia affected
COLUMBIA - Schnucks is having a shortage in fresh items and many shelves are empty at the store on Forum Boulevard.
Schnucks released a statement that said high customer traffic, a transition to a new warehouse, and a power outage that affected computer ordering systems combined to create shortages in some stores.
"We are working to resolve this as quickly as possible and apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause some of our customers," Schnucks said in a statement. "We are offering rain checks for any out-of-stock sale items at each store's courtesy center. It is our commitment to provide our customers the freshest, widest selection of products. We thank our customers for their ongoing support and patronage."
Paul Simon of Schnuck's Market said stores are currently receiving fresh shipments for the items that are under or out-of-stock.
"We are working with our vendor partners to resolve this," he said.
