ASHLAND - Southern Boone County School Board will meet Monday to tackle accusations made against its superintendent and two recent resignations. The special meeting comes after former assistant superintendent Carolyn Deffenbaugh's seven-page resignation letter went viral last week.

In her letter, Deffenbaugh accused Superintendent Charlotte Smith of nepotism, wasteful spending, unfair pay increases and favoritism.

She accused Smith and Southern Boone County Middle School Principal Bob Simpson of spending $32,000 of taxpayer money to groom Simpson to be the next superintendent for the district.

Since the letter came out Simpson and the school board's president Bridget Canaday have resigned.
