School Safety an Issue in MO, Too
$10 million in federal funds is being used to create an open line of communication between law enforcement officials and first responders in the event of an emergency. The Governor also announced a new campus security task force to act as a link between school administrators and the public safety community. He also discussed an internet based database that would provide responders with much needed information.
"Local and state law enforcement can get online and see the floor plans, see where doors are, see where windows are, see where hazmat is within the room. It could really have a powerful impact in terms of how successful response will be," Blunt said.In addition, the Governor recently added educators to the state's homeland security oversight committees.
