Sedalia residents will have a new place to dispose of recyclables
SEDALIA - Recyclable materials will have a new home in Sedalia starting June 20.
The Recycle Center on Metallic Lane will close and a new Materials Management Site will open at 27882 Highway U. It is the location of the city's composite facility.
The new location will allow for drop-off of both recyclable materials and yard-waste by appointment. Hazardous waste will also be taken.
The site will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. seven days per week, excluding city holidays.
The Materials Management Site will only use two containers. One single container will be used for all plastics, aluminum, tin, paper including cardboard, newspaper and magazines. There will be a separate container for glass products.
Materials that will not be accepted include: Styrofoam, plastic wrap, thin plastic bags, diapers, liquids, medical waste and organic food products.
