Semi driver says sickness caused him to crash
BOONE COUNTY - A semi-truck ran off the road Tuesday morning and crashed into a ditch off of Highway 63 North and Peabody Road.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said it got calls about the truck speeding and driving erratically.
MSHP Corporal Scott Ballard said the driver told him he was going to get sick, so he tried to pull off the road but crashed instead.
Ballard said the driver refused medical treatment when an ambulance arrived.
A wrecker closed one lane of traffic for less than an hour to pull the truck out of the ditch.
MSHP is investigating the accident to make sure the truck meets all commercial and federal requirements.
The truck belonged to the moving company Carlyle Van Lines.
