Semi jackknifes after mud spill on Highway 63 South
COLUMBIA - Both lanes of Highway 63 South were open Thursday evening after a semi jackknifed and caused traffic delays.
One lane of the highway was blocked Thursday afternoon near Deer Park Road after the accident happend around 3 p.m.
Bogdan Ergosu was driving the truck. He said he felt the truck start to slide when it jackknifed. Ergosu said the semi hit the median, which broke the driver's side window.
Ergosu said he only had a small scrape on his hand.
According to Chris Swisher, a Boone County firefighter and KOMU 8 engineer, the truck likely slid in mud on the roadway, which a another truck spilled earlier in the day.
