Services Set For Father, 2 Sons Who Died on Hike
WATERLOO, Ill. (AP) - Services are set for an Air Force veteran and two of his sons who died while hiking in southeast Missouri during a family outing.
The bodies of David Decareaux (DEHK'-ah-roh) of Millstadt, Ill., 10-year-old Dominic Decareaux and 8-year-old Grant Decareaux were found Sunday, a day after they went missing during a hike on the Ozark Trail in Missouri's Reynolds County.
Investigators say the 36-year-old father and his sons were wearing only light clothing when they ventured out Saturday. They later got lost as temperatures rapidly dropped and heavy rainfall pounded the area.
The sheriff says the family members died from hypothermia.
Services for the three victims will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Quernheim Funeral Home in Waterloo. Burials will follow in Missouri's Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery near St. Louis
