Services set for former reporter, editor Sue Ann Wood
ST. LOUIS (AP) — Graveside services are planned for former St. Louis newspaper reporter and editor Sue Ann Wood.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Wood was 85 when she died Thursday at a Kirkwood nursing home, where she had residence since August because of advanced multiple sclerosis.
Wood joined the former St. Louis Globe-Democrat in 1955, rising through the ranks from reporter to managing editor. After 29 years with that newspaper, she joined the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, among other things service as reader's advocate in Sunday editions.
She retired in 1999.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Riverview Cemetery in Jefferson City.
