Seven Officers Honored At Memorial Service
JEFFERSON CITY - Legislators and police officers gathered Saturday at the state Capitol to honor their fallen comrades.
Saturday marked the 24th annual "Missouri Law Enforcement Memorial Service."
Gov. Nixon was on hand to honor the seven Missouri officers who died in the line of duty in the last year. Families of the fallen were also there to provide support.
"Sometimes we say that we are a member of a club we never wanted to belong to, but without these families I don't know how we would have gotten through a lot of this," Kathy McEntee said. "Their support has just been tremendous."
Names of the seven will be added to a memorial honoring the fallen on the north side of the state Capitol.
