Shane Ray named semi-finalist for Rotary Lombardi Award
COLUMBIA - Missouri defensive end Shane Ray has more awards to add to his many accomplishments this season after being named one of 12 semi-finalists for the 45th Rotary Lombardi Award.
This award is given anually to the nation's top lineman or linebacker. Ray has received many awards so far this year including four SEC league honors. He currently leads the SEC in sacks (12) and tackles for loss (16). Ray has the second-most sacks and the third-most tackles for loss in the nation.
This is the second consecutive year a Missouri Tiger has been named a semi-finalist for the Rotary Lombardi Award. Former Tiger Michael Sam was a finalist for the award in 2013.
Four finalists for the award will be announced on Nov. 20 and the winner will be unveiled on Dec. 10 in Houston.
