Shooting Investigation Continues
The two suspects arrested for the shooting that took place at the corner of Prescott Dr. and Bearfield Rd. are 20 year old Lorenzo Ladiner and 17 year old Kristopher Prince.
Police say this investigation has just begun and will probably last for the next few weeks. They are almost sure there are still witnesses they haven't talked to that could provide information. They are also waiting on an autopsy report.
Police also say the shooting wasn't random.
"These people definitely knew each other, and they had been in a dispute for over a year," said Captain Brad Nelson of the Columbia Police Department.
Police don't know what the dispute was over, or if it was gang-related.
"We don't have anybody saying this is because of a gang incident at this time, but we certainly look at every angle," said Nelson.
Police say drive-by shootings have taken place in Columbia before.
"It's pretty rare that someone is actually struck," said Nelson.
Even so, Prescott Resident Anna Turley and her neighbors are staying cautious.
"I'm going to try and stay inside when it's dark out, and not be around out here," she said.
