ST. LOUIS - St. Louis NBC affiliate KSDK-TV reports that two people were shot at a downtown St. Louis school around 2 p.m. Tuesday.

According to the station, there were conflicting reports at first about how many victims were shot at Stevens Institute of Business and Arts. Now, KSDK has been able to confirm that one male, a financial aid advisor, is believed to have been shot in the chest. The victim was found in the lobby.

KSDK also reported that the suspect, a male student, suffered the other gunshot wound. Police approached him in the stairwell between the third and fourth floors of the school's building in the 1500 block of Washington Avenue. The suspect shot himself as police were approaching.

Sources said the incident may have been over a dispute regarding a discrepancy in the student's financial aid.
