Show Me State Games hosts 25th Annual MFA Oil - Break Time Shootout
COLUMBIA - Show-Me State Games will be hosting its last MFA Oil - Break Time Shootout on Saturday.
It is also celebrating the 25th anniversary of the basketball event which will feature six Missouri match-ups that start at noon.
"25 years is a long time. It's been a wonderful run," Show-Me State Games director Dave Fox said. "The Show-Me State Games is based on four core values, and those are promoting health, fitness, family and fun. And for 25 years, MFA Oil Break Time Shootout has been the perfect example of us achieving those core values."
Fox has been with the organization for six years, and says he is happy the event was able to reach its 25th anniversary.
"I think over time, 25 years, it's kind of a milestone, certainly for us and [MFA Oil], and we're looking forward to where our partnership and relationship goes from there," Fox said.
Of the 12 teams competing,three schools come from Columbia. Battle High School will be competing in its first Break Time Shootout. Battle Head Coach Brian Meny says it was important for him to give his team an opportunity to play in Mizzou Arena.
"We did a lot of things to set our schedule, so our kids can have these opportunities," he said. "It's just a first class event."

Battle (9-4) vs. Father Tolton (10-7) @ 7:55 p.m.
