Sitler appointed as first Director of School of Nursing at William Woods University
FULTON - William Woods University announced Tuesday that Dr. Lisa Sitler will be the university's new Director of Nursing. Sitler will be the first-ever director of the school's new School of Nursing, announced in early October.
Sitler has more than 20 years of nursing and health care teaching experience and graduated from Maryville University in St. Louis. As head of the School of Nursing she will be responsible for overall leadership, development, direction and administration of all aspects of the nursing program.
“We are fortunate to have an individual with vast experience in both the teaching and practical side of health care as William Woods’ first ever Director of Nursing,” said President Barnett in a news release sent Tuesday. “Lisa has the right combination of professional and academic credentials that make her the perfect choice to direct the building of our newest program of study, a program that will produce graduates who will be in high demand in the health care industry.”
The School of Nursing at WWU was announced this year on October 5 and will also be apart of a partnership with Fulton State Hospital. Fulton State Hospital will make its education facility available to William Woods students in the program. This includes things like access to the hospital's library, office space for nursing staff, classroom space and space for a simulation lab.
