COLUMBIA - Missouri Employers Mutual presented the Columbia Chamber of Commerce Micro Business Fair Tuesday afternoon. The sixth annual event offered networking opportunities for small businesses.
Nearly 40 businesses came to the fair, which started with a ribbon cutting ceremony and then featured displays from businesses with 10 or fewer employees.
Joel Mietzner, owner of EcoWater Systems and also a first-time participant of the fair, said he found more opportunities in Columbia.
"What we like to take out of this event is to network, get in touch with other businesses, get contact with other businesses, and let them know that the EcoWater brand is expanding and growing in the Columbia market." Mietzner said.
Keynote speakers Debbie Mathes and Mark Gingrich from Williams-Keepers, LLC also talked about the effects of the Affordable Care Act on small businesses.
The event ended at 6:30 p.m. and concluded with a networking reception.
