Snow Storm Causes Power Outages
BOONE COUNTY - Winter weather caused some power outages across Boone County today.
Columbia Joint Communications said a handful of power outages have been reported throughout Columbia and Boone County Thursday morning.
In Columbia, some traffic lights are down due to the power outages. Traffic lights affected are at the intersections listed:
- Providence Road and Interstate 70
- Providence and Vandiver
- Route 63 and New Haven Road
Joint communications said there may be more outages and stoplights with issues. Columbia Water and Light is working to restore electricity. Joint communication suggests that if you come to a signal light that is down, approach the intersection like a four-way stop. They suggest you use caution, slow down, steer and brake gently, accelerate slowly at intersections, and allow plenty of room between yourself and other vehicles.
