Snyder Struggles On
Missouri has failed to make the NCAA tournament the last two years, and this Tiger team has a losing record overall and in the Big XII (10-11, 3-7). Only Baylor has a record worse than the Tigers in conference play, and the Bears demolished Missouri by 26 points on Tuesday night.
The recent onlslaught of struggles for Snyder had many wondering if the coach would resign. Snyder snuffed out the possibility of voluntarily stepping down in a Thursday statement.
"You know, there have been plenty of times that that option [resignation] could have come up," said Snyder. The embattled coach continued, "I'm coaching my team, so I'm going to keep doing that until someone tells me not to [and] keep working as hard as I can. There is certainly frustration."
Snyder accepted full responsibility for the Tigers' poor performance.
"As a coach, I want my team to play better and I know I'm responsible for that. But until that question [resignation] poses itself I'm going to say my party line, 'It's not about me.'"
