Southeast Missouri man admits fatally shooting wife in 2014
KENNETT (AP) — A southeast Missouri man faces up to 30 years in prison now that he has admitted fatally shooting his wife during a 2014 argument in their home.
The Daily Dunklin Democrat (http://bit.ly/1S3C0Z2) of Kennett reported that Allan Branum pleaded guilty Wednesday in Dunklin County to a second-degree murder charge.
He had been charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action, which was dropped in exchange for Branum's guilty plea.
Authorities said Branum shot and killed Regena Branum on May 22, 2014, in their Kennett home.
Sentencing is scheduled for April 21.
