Southeast Missouri State to Reopen Hall After Renovations
CAPE GIRARDEAU (AP) - After two years of work and nearly $24 million in renovations, Academic Hall at Southeast Missouri State will open to the public next week.
Academic Hall was completed in 1905 and was once the primary building on the Southeast Missouri campus. Its gymnasium was closed in September 2010 and several offices later relocated as the renovation progressed. Those offices will begin returning to Academic Hall later this month.
The Southeast Missourian reports the hall will reopen during the university's Homecoming celebration Monday through Oct. 26.
The ribbon cutting and rededication will be held at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 24 in Academic auditorium.
