SIKESTON - A southeast Missouri teacher accused of sending explicit photographs to a 14-year-old student has pleaded guilty to reduced charges.

The Southeast Missourian reports that 29-year-old Andrew J. Delles of Jackson originally faced three counts of enticement of a child and three counts of sexual misconduct of a child. But the junior high teacher pleaded guilty Monday to just one of the sexual misconduct counts.

His sentencing is set for March 11. Under the terms of his plea deal, Delles may be sentenced to probation and be placed on a sex offender list.

Delles was placed on paid leave from his teaching in March after allegations surfaced of "inappropriate electronic communications" involving a female student.

Court documents say photos apparently had been exchanged between the two.
