Springfield man seeks settlement in suit involving late son
SPRINGFIELD (AP) - The father of a 4-year-old boy killed in a fall from a third-story window last year in downtown Springfield asked a judge to sign off on a $100,000 settlement of his wrongful-death lawsuit.
The Springfield News-Leader reported that Patrick Twibell filed the lawsuit Monday in Greene County, a day before the settlement was proposed.
The lawsuit and police said Kayla Boyd was hosting 4-year-old Ashton Twibell as a guest when the boy tumbled out an open apartment window. Boyd denied that any negligence on her part caused the boy's death.
Patrick Twibell's lawsuit sought compensation for medical and funeral costs and expenses, and any other damages the court deems appropriate.
