St. Joseph homicide victim identified as 54-year-old man
ST. JOSEPH (AP) — Authorities have released the name of a St. Joseph homicide victim.
The St. Joseph News-Press reports that police identified the victim Monday as 54-year-old Perry Smith. Police say officers found him dead while responding Friday to a report that shots had been fired.
A 51-year-old man was taken into custody over the weekend. St. Joseph police Capt. Jeff Wilson says detectives are waiting to confirm the cause of death.
