St. Louis Area High School Issues Lockout After Report of Shots
KIRKWOOD - KOMU sister station KSDK in St. Louis reported that Kirkwood High School administered a lockout shortly after 7:15 a.m. Tuesday.
The station reported through its Twitter account that the school district called for the lockout due to reports of shots fired in the area.
Some students had arrived on school buses but were not allowed on campus as a precaution.
KSDK reported that multiple police agencies sent offices to the scene, including Kirkwood, Sunset Hills and Creve Coeur. Law enforcement officials set up a perimeter.
Around 7:45 a.m., KSDK said it was not an active shooter situation and said school would be delayed about an hour.
On Twitter, the Kirkwood School District said all students and staff will receive a phone call when it is safe for school to start.
