St. Louis Cardinals Caravan Set to Go on Tour
COLUMBIA - The St. Louis Cardinals launched their annual caravan tour across the region on Friday with stops scheduled in Missouri, Illinois, Tennessee and Arkansas. For fans in mid-Missouri, a group of current and former Cardinal pitchers will be making four stops in two days. Those players are Michael Wacha, Tyler Lyons, Jermaine Curtis, Stephen Piscotty, Alan Benes and John Costello. Sportscaster John Rooney will serve as the emcee for the event.
Stops are scheduled to be made on Friday in Mexico and Jefferson City. The first stop in Mexico will take place at the Missouri Military Academy Gymtorium at noon. Doors will open at 11 a.m. The second stop in Jefferson City will be held at the Missouri Farm Bureau Center at 6 p.m. with doors opening at 5 p.m.
On Saturday, the caravan will make two more stops in Columbia and Moberly. For the Columbia stop, fans wishing to see the Cardinals will have to have a ticket to the Mizzou basketball game vs. Alabama. The caravan is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. when the doors open and will conclude before the start of the 1 p.m. game. The final stop of the tour will take place in Moberly at the Moberly Municipal Auditorium at 6 p.m. with doors opening at 5 p.m.
The first 400 children (15 and under) through the door for each event will receive a free autograph ticket which guarantees autographs. Due to high demand, autographs are only available for these children but fans of all ages will be able to ask questions and interact with the current players, alumni and broadcasters from the organization. Be sure to check out where other members of the St. Louis Cardinals are touring this year, too.
