ST. LOUIS - Police called to a domestic violence incident in St. Louis County have shot and killed a man.

St. Louis County Police Sgt. Colby Dolly told The St. Louis Post-Dispatch that Florissant police officers were handling a domestic violence dispute Sunday. They went to another address to contact an individual involved in the alleged domestic violence.

When the officers arrived at that location a man confronted them with a weapon. Dolly says there was an exchange of gunfire from the man and the officers, and the man was fatally shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The officers were uninjured.

The victim's identity hasn't been released.
