St. Louis meters to take credit cards this fall
ST. LOUIS (AP) - People parking in St. Louis can leave the change at home starting this fall.
The St. Louis Treasurer's office told KSDK-TV that parking meters will be upgraded to include credit card payments.
Xerox and Parkmobile have been selected for the project. Xerox will upgrade the technology and Parkmobile will enable a smartphone application. The project is expected to cost $5 million.
Officials say the new meters will allow coin or credit card payment. Credit card users must pay for at least one hour of parking.
