St. Louis police investigating stun gun use on two protesters
ST. LOUIS (AP) - St. Louis police said they were investigating after an officer used a stun gun in the arrest of two protesters who were part of a march last week.
Police Chief Sam Dotson declined an interview request Monday with the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, saying the Friday incident was under investigation.
A woman posted a cellphone video online that showed her and a man walking on a sidewalk seconds before an officer used a Taser to subdue them.
The pair, along with six others, was arrested on suspicion of impeding traffic by walking in the street. The two were also accused of resisting arrest.
Police said participants of the "Black Lives Matter" protest had been walking down the middle of a street, nearly causing several crashes by disregarding traffic signals.
