St. Louis Police Shoot Suspect
ST. LOUIS (AP) - A 23-year-old man is wounded after being shot by a St. Louis police officer.
Police told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that the man pointed his weapon at an officer after firing shots into a crowd and wounding a man.
Police were called to disperse a crowd shortly after midnight Monday. Officers say the suspect approached a home and began firing shots at a group of people, hitting a 26-year-old in the abdomen and chest. That man is hospitalized in critical condition.
The gunman fled and encountered the officer, allegedly pointing his gun at the officer. The officer fired at the gunman, who dropped his gun and ran. Police captured the suspect a short time later. Details about his injury were not released.
