St. Louis river bridge's planned upgrades spur closures
ST. LOUIS (AP) - Drivers hoping to use a St. Louis bridge to drive across the Mississippi River from Missouri into Illinois may need to pursue another option.
The Illinois Department of Transportation says eastbound lanes of the Martin Luther King Bridge will be closed this weekend from 8 p.m. Friday through 6 a.m. Monday to allow for the installation of scaffolding for upcoming repair work.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that more nighttime closures involving the bridge are expected next week.
