St. Louis Storm Warning Sends Residents to Shelter
ST. LOUIS (AP) - A tornado warning has prompted sirens to blare across St. Louis County, and area residents have started seeking shelter. The sirens began sounding just before 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The warnings came hours after the Kansas City area was put under a tornado warning that sent downtown workers to basements and interior stairwells. The storm system working its way across the state touched off a series of funnel clouds around Kansas City and central Missouri. At least one tornado did damage and caused injuries in the town of Sedalia.
