St. Louis SUV Blows Past Barricade
ST. LOUIS (AP) -- St. Louis police are looking for the driver of a sport utility vehicle that drove through barricades and plunged down an embankment where a bridge used to be.
Police tell KTVI-TV that around 2:15 a.m. Thursday the SUV drove through barricades on South Grand to where a bridge has been removed as part of a construction project. The vehicle ended up on Bernard Street below, with its front wheels sticking up in the air.
By the time police arrived, the driver was gone.
Authorities say the area is well lit and the construction zone is well marked.
