St. Louis woman gets 20 years in prison in housemate's death
ST. LOUIS (AP) - A St. Louis woman has been sentenced to 20 years in prison in the abuse and death of her 67-year-old housemate.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports 52-year-old Darlene Coulibaly was sentenced Monday for the death of Howard E. Spracher in 2012. She had pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, elder abuse and domestic assault.
According to prosecutors, police found Spracher in cardiac arrest and malnourished in the home he shared with Coulibaly. Authorities said the victim had numerous healed and newly-broken bones throughout his body, as well as bruises and cuts.
He later died at a hospital.
