St. Mary's Hospital holds ribbon cutting ceremony
JEFFERSON CITY - St. Mary's Hospital held an official ribbon cutting ceremony in Jefferson City Tuesday.
Hospital board members joined Jefferson City Chamber of Commerce members and local business owners to help cut the ribbon.
St. Mary's Marketing and Communications Consultant Becki Collier said they focused on patient care when it came to designing the hospital.
"Everything from way-finding signage to the rooms is focused around the patients," Collier said. "The operating rooms have been designed to better serve the doctors and the patients, making all the rooms identical on each floor."
All the operating rooms also have a sterile center. The sterile center helps keeps the doctors and the nurses from having to go out and resterilize every time they go in and out of the room.
The labor and delivery suites are all inclusive, which means expecting mothers can now perform labor, delivery and recovery all in the same room.
The hospital officially opened a month ago Tuesday.
