State Begins Charitable Campaign
JEFFERSON CITY - On Wednesday, the Missouri Office of Administration kicked off the annual Missouri state employees charitable campaign. The last campaign raised a record $1.25 million, nearly a $100,000 more than the previous record following 9-11. Money raised by state workers will go mostly to mid-Missouri charities.
"We kick off our campaign today in anticipation that we will do equally as well if not better, because we know in these hardships that we are having in hard economic times, our state employees are true 'show me' missouri citizens," said Office of Administration Commissioner Kevin Simmons. "They show that they will get involved and they will donate, and we're happy to kick off the campaign today."
The campaign will run through November.
